Dr. Jody Morse, DDS

Dr. Jody Morse is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Dentistry, earning her degree in 1998. Her journey in dentistry began in 1989 as a dental assistant, and since then, she has been dedicated to patient care. Driven by a passion for serving others, she has contributed significantly to the field, including teaching dental hygiene in Jacksonville, North Carolina, and providing complimentary dental care to immunocompromised patients through a university hospital in Illinois.

As the lead diagnostician in her practice, Dr. Jody personally attends to both new and returning patients for comprehensive exams. Renowned for her gentle and friendly chairside manner, she prioritizes spending ample time with each individual to address their questions and educate them about their dental health, fostering a collaborative partnership. Dr. Jody takes immense pride in the enduring relationships she has cultivated with her "family" of patients over the years.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Jody shares her life with her husband, Dr. Mike, and they relocated from the bustling streets of Chicago to the serene countryside of North Carolina in 2005. Residing on a picturesque horse farm in Stokesdale, the couple, along with their two nephews, two horses, two dogs, and two cats, have created a warm and inviting home. In her leisure time, Dr. Jody indulges her passion for equestrian pursuits, actively participating as an amateur in dressage competitions, a testament to her multifaceted and fulfilling life both inside and outside of the dental practice.

Dr. Mike Doyle, DDS

Meet Dr. Mike Doyle, who discovered his passion for all things teeth at an early age while toiling away in his father’s dental lab. In fact, he has NEVER had a job that didn’t involve teeth. When his father would not give him a raise, he went off to Graduate from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. Dr. Mike did not stop there going on to receive a fellowship at the Academy of GP Orthodontics, completing the Nash Esthetics continuum, and becoming a founding member of the prestigious Spear Elite study club. His obsession with continuing education is ridiculous actually.

Dr. Mike’s focus now is Cosmetic Dentistry and complex full-mouth rehabilitations. His ultimate goal? To treat every patient he sees as he would want to be treated himself, and have every patient proud to walk away with the Smile they have always dreamed of.

When he is not building smiles, Mike and his wife/partner in crime Dr. Jody, spend their time on their own version of a petting zoo. Horses, dogs, cats, sons, and whatever Dr. Jody happens to bring home that day. Mike enjoys time on his tractor mowing fields or just hiding from the general mayhem. He also is an aficionado of good old classic rock

So, whether you need a dental miracle or want to talk about Led Zepplin, Dr. Mike is your guy.

How we help

Just about anything you need under one roof.

Crowns

A crown (or cap) is needed when enough tooth structure is missing that a filling is not a strong enough restoration.  When over 50-60% of the biting surface of a tooth is missing, a crown is indicated.  Crowns involve select removal of tooth structure in 3 dimensions. The result is a tooth stump that a crown may be cemented onto.  The crown distributes force, to prevent the remaining tooth structure from weakening and fracture.

Indications for crowns:

  • Broken teeth
  • Esthetic improvement of teeth
  • Very large fillings
  • Root canal teeth – when a root canal is done, the blood supply to the tooth is removed.  The remaining tooth structure becomes brittle over time and is very susceptible to catastrophic fracture, which can lead to tooth loss. Crowns prevent this.

The crowns fabricated at DDS are all porcelain crowns that result in restorations of unmatched strength and esthetics.  The best part is that with our Cerec technology, these crowns are completed in one visit.  For more information, please visit the Cerec crown section of our website.

Veneers

You no longer need to hide your smile because of gaps, chips, stains, or misshapen teeth. With veneers, you can easily correct your teeth’s imperfections to help you have a more confident, beautiful smile. Veneers are natural in appearance, and they are a perfect option for patients wanting to make minor adjustments to the look and feel of their smile.

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells made from tooth-colored materials (such as porcelain), and they are designed to cover the front side of your teeth. To prepare for veneers, your doctor will create a unique model of your teeth. This model is sent to the dental technician to create your veneers. Before placing your new veneer, your doctor may need to conservatively prepare your tooth to achieve the desired aesthetic result.

When your veneers are placed, you’ll be pleased to see that they look like your natural teeth. While veneers are stain-resistant, your doctor may recommend that you avoid coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco to maintain the beauty of your new smile.

Cosmetic Enhancements

When we think of cosmetic surgery, we tend to focus on the cheeks, eyes, and nose. But there are some appearance enhancements that a cosmetic surgeon can't make: those having to do with your teeth. As more people look to improve their appearance through surgery, cosmetic dentistry and periodontology are experiencing a rise in popularity. In fact, a poll conducted by the American Academy of Periodontology found that smile enhancement procedures outnumbered eyelid surgeries five to one.

The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry cites a recent study in which participants were shown photos of people before and after smile-enhancing treatment. The people with improved smiles were rated not just as more attractive, but also more popular, sensitive, successful, and friendly.

If you're interested in improving your smile, we can help in a variety of areas. Following are some of the most common corrections we perform for our patients.

Teeth Whitening

There are many products and techniques available for patients who want to achieve a brighter smile, and with so many options available, it can be difficult to choose the method that is right for you. The best way to begin any teeth-whitening regimen is to schedule an appointment and talk to your doctor about the differences between in-office professional whitening and at-home whitening.

At-Home Teeth Whitening:

  • Tray Whitening
  • Paint-On Teeth Whiteners
  • Teeth-Whitening Strips
  • Whitening Toothpaste and Mouthwash

SureSmile® Aligners

SureSmile clear aligners are a system of clear, removable trays that straighten teeth. They are a great alternative to traditional orthodontics if you want a straighter smile but do not want to wear metal braces, to finish off treatment if you already have traditional braces, or if you have had treatment in the past and want to make corrections to your smile.

Using SureSmile technology, your dentist will create a 3D digital model of your teeth. This model is then sent to SureSmile, where the aligner designs are printed out using a 3D printer. Each aligner is custom-made to fit over your teeth and designed to move teeth gradually into their proper positions.

Just like braces, clear aligners use gradual force to control tooth movement, but without any metal wires or brackets. The aligners are made with a strong plastic material and are fabricated to fit your mouth. Each aligner is created a little different, so each time you switch aligners, your teeth move a little more.

Aligners are worn for at least 20 hours each day, and for two weeks apiece, before you switch to a new aligner. The length of your treatment depends on the severity of your case; it can take anywhere from six months to two years.
