Meet Dr. Scott Vines

Dr. Scott Vines earned his dental degree from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry before completing a two-year General Practice Residency at the University of Texas Medical Center in Houston. He has been practicing dentistry since 1998 and is dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care with a strong focus on the well-being of his patients.

Throughout his career, Dr. Vines has been actively involved in organized dentistry at both the state and local levels. He served eight years on the North Carolina Dental Society Board of Trustees and was Chair of its Annual Session in 2015. He has also served as President of both the Third District Dental Society and Rockingham County Dental Society and is a former member of the UNC Dental Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Dr. Vines has a strong background in scientific research and has co-authored more than 20 abstracts and papers. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and Federation of Special Care and holds fellowships with the American Association of Hospital Dentists, International College of Dentists, and Pierre Fauchard Academy.

Giving back to the community has also been an important part of Dr. Vines’ career. He currently serves as Chair of the Annie Penn Hospital Advisory Board and previously spent nine years on the Rockingham County Board of Health. For more than 20 years, he has volunteered monthly at the Rockingham County Free Clinic and has coordinated six North Carolina Dental Society Missions of Mercy projects providing free dental care to underserved adults. He and his team have also participated in Give Kids a Smile since 1998, and he volunteered for 16 years with the Christina’s Smile mobile dental program.
